One Hour Service: we can complete the translation within one hour. Files must be received by 4PM on a business day to qualify for this service. Files received after 4PM will be considered as being received the next business day and will be completed by 10am the following business day.
Overnight service: we can complete the translation within one day. Files must be received by 4PM on a business day to qualify for this service, and will be ready for despatch/collection by 4PM the following business day.
Three Day service: we can complete the translation within three business days. Files received by 4PM on a business day will be ready by 4PM on the third business day following. Files received after 4PM will be will be counted as being received the following business day.
No. NZTA approves only certain translation agencies to complete the translation. It is important that you verify that the translation is provided by an approved agency. You can do this via the NZTA website and also by checking that the translation has an approval number on it.
Under NZTA regulations you can use a PDF printout to both drive as a tourist and to transfer your licence to a NZ licence. Note that other Government agencies may require a stamped and signed original translation.
The translation is valid for the period of validity of your licence.
You are allowed to drive in New Zealand for a maximum of 12 months on an international or foreign driver’s licence. After that you must apply for a New Zealand driver’s licence. Make sure you apply for the NZ driver’s licence before the 12 month period is up, and make sure your original driver’s licence is not going to expire before you apply for a NZ driver’s licence! You will need to present a certified translation of your driver’s licence when applying for a New Zealand licence.
Yes, the translation of your driver’s licence is a certified translation, so can also be used for other purposes (such as ID when opening a bank account).
In New Zealand, NZTA approved translations are accepted by IRD for applying for an IRD number, by many banks when opening a bank accounts, and by utilities when signing up for a new phone, electricity account etc.

There are often different ways to Romanize when working from a language that does not use the English alphabet. In order that all your documents are consistent, we ask you to give us the romanization of your name as it appears in your passport.
